Merak, Morangan, Kedulan, Gua Sentono, Abang, Payak, Gampingan.
Candi Merak is located at approximately 15 km of Prambanan and 7 km in the north of Klaten.
There
is there a beautiful whole of several shivaic sanctuaries , but
reduced to the middle height.
One finds nevertheless
many statues there on the monuments and dispersed around, of which the usual
images of Ganesha and Durga Mahishasuramardini. The whole is in the center of
a village, and the site is surrounded by large trees which makes the place completely
charming.
The site is situated 6 km in the north of Candi Sambasari on the slopes of the Merapi.
It
is about a whole of small busted shivaic temples released from
their cover of volcanic ash. One has the impression that a
cataclysm took place here.
By attentively making the turn of the various structures, one will discover that and there a certain number of very pretty low-reliefs, as well as a very beautiful yoni.
This site, discovered in 1994 only, is located on the blanks of Gunung Merapi. To go there, simplest is to turn over on the road axis Yogya Solo, then to turn on the right 100 m after Candi Kalasan. To follow this right road on 3 km, then to take on the left and 30 m further on the right, and finally straight to the village of Kedulan 1 km further.
The
site arises into two part. The site where the base of the temple
is discovered, several meters under the level of the close
ground, then higher on the right, an attempt at rebuilding in
several pieces of the whole of the monument.
Although a yoni is deposited close to the foundations, decorations and the characters sitting cross-legged and holding flowers of lotus in the hands, rather make think of a buddhistic temple.
This cave is situated 10 km in the south of Ratu Boko.
It
is about a whole of three shivaic caves. One is empty. In the
second, three people are carved on the wall of the bottom. The
character of the center - certainly Shiva on the Kailasha mount -
sat cross-legged. In front of him is a linga / yoni.
The third cave is most interesting. One sees there, at the bottom, a linga / yoni and, on both sides, on the walls, four sculptures, respectively in the direction of the needles of a watch, Shiva Mahakala, then Durga, opposite her Agastya, and finally Shiva.
Located
at a cable's length away from Gua Sentono, on a hill, we can see
a large tumulus whose excavations of the top updated a yoni.
Located
at 3 km of Candi Abang, it is about a small
but pretty sacred bath, arranged well, and presented in a species
of bosky bower.
Located at 10 km south of Prambanan and 2 km west of Candi Payak, it is about a mud site discovered very recently, in a village by, like often, a peasant who updated stones, while turning over the ground.
Two vestiges were released. First reveals the base of a small shivaist temple , surrounded by some small structures limited to their foundation. The second vestige, located at 20 m of the first reveals us a well of foundation surrounded by its curbstone.
